Two years ago, Nike had an inspiration, which came like a bolt out of the blue, to move into the jewellery industry. She started buying and selling beads and stones. She journeyed to south-east Asia and sourced suppliers.

Among the beads and stones sold by Nimo Gems are: lapis, jade, amethyst, shell, rose quarts, crystals, turquoise and many varieties of coral.

The jewellery trade is highly competitive. Getting into the trade is not an easy task. First, she sold strands wholesale to those who make jewellery. But Nike has always had a flair for design. Her friends repeatedly encouraged her to produce her own work. She did not pay much attention to their comments. But one day she was inspired and decided to produce her own.

She started selling her products to friends and colleagues. Soon the demand grew, which made her realise that she could hold her own in a very competitive trade. Each piece sold by Nimo Gems is carefully handcrafted. Nike is determined to make a difference in the retail world of design jewellery. She constantly strives to produce products that are fresh and new, significantly different from what exists.

The products of Nimo Gems reflect a great deal of personal attention to detail and the natural beauty of the earth.

Says Nike: "Nimo Gems sells through several outlets in London. Customers can also place orders from the catalogues.
